Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer | | Robert A. Edwards joined The South Financial Group in April 2007 as Executive Vice President, Senior Credit Administrator. In June 2008, he became the Chief Risk Officer with responsibility for credit policy, credit review, enterprise risk, risk reporting and analytics, and special assets. In December 2008, he became the Chief Credit Officer responsible for credit risk management policies and processes.
Prior to joining The South Financial Group, Mr. Edwards spent 20 years serving in a variety of credit and risk functions at both Regions and BB&T including Commercial Credit Analyst Team Leader, Commercial Loan Officer, Small Business Underwriter, Small Business Product Manager, and Retail Lending Risk Manager. At Regions, he also served as Chair of the Corporate Retail Asset Quality Committee with responsibility for lending policies, loan operations processes and rate setting.
Mr. Edwards earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and computer science from Eastern Nazarene College and an MBA from Florida Atlantic University. | |
